The company? You want to know about the company? There are thousands, millions of other things you could be learning about but instead you come to this page to learn about this random company that you probably heard about from the same guy that holds the sign that usually reads “The End is Neigh [sic]”? That’s Steve by the way. Say “hi” the next time from us.
We actually started this little venture up in 2017. We decided to put our heads together in the vain hope that our collection of about 3 brain cells between four heads might yield something. This had a two fold effect. First it illustrated that some of us definitely need to moisturize more, and second, it caused us to come to the conclusion that “let’s start a company!” is a proper response to our less than ample and fast dwindling levels of free time.
To actually answer and not belabor the point, Sorcerous Intent is a small, independent game development company. It is our intent to create games that focus on player agency, depth of choice and depth of consequence. Hopefully one day, people might pay us to do this with minimal regret on either side. This, just like bedroom relations, is the ideal state for a business arrangement.
Honestly, it’s one of life’s great mysteries. Is the Universe Infinite? What is at the center of a black hole? How many licks does it take to get to the center of certain candy coated candy lollipops? What is it that Sorcerous Intent actually does?
To be perfectly frank, we argue. A lot. We grumble. We drink. We create games. We create spreadsheets of dubious probabilistic mathematical experiments in support of those games. We make a diverse and interesting world for people to discover. We create systems that reward the players both on and off the imaginary battlefield. But most of all, we don’t really take ourselves seriously. This is already a serious business, creating something and putting it out there in such a way so that people will know we were the ones who actually did it. It’s so serious, in fact, that we couldn’t possibly be serious as well. Hence all of the dick jokes.
